Dennis J. Hocker, PhD

 

Dr. Dennis Hocker has spent his lifetime in Perry County.  He was born in Marysville, schooled at Susquenita, and now lives with his wife, Mary Ellen (Fortney) in Wheatfield Township.  Their family’s farm was settled in the 1760’s by Richard Stewart and has remained in the family since that time.

Dr. Hocker is an internationally respected business advisor and an expert in Psychometric Evaluation.  He serves an international clientele from his office in Perry County.

He is currently involved in several projects to rediscover and preserve the rich history of Perry County including: the Fort Robinson archeological project near Centre, The Shermans Creek Presbyterian Church (1766-1804) one of the first churches in Perry County and where tradition says the first white man to die in the county is buried, and the 1756 massacre of settlers along Shermans Creek near Dellville.

He is a Director of the  Historical Society of Perry County, Director of the Perry Historians, Secretary of the Board of Directors at Members First Federal Credit Union, and serves as a Board Member of several small businesses.
